mallow supports our local community with organisations who share our values and help to provide nutritious food for those in need. we are only just beginning.
an incredible organisation who raise funds for the homeless via the hospitality industry. mildreds have been supporting streetsmart for the last 20 years and in 2023 we hit the milestone of raising £160,000. we’re delighted to continue supporting them this year. throughout december, our customers will be able to add an optional £1 to their bill to help us raise money for this fantastic cause.
planzheroes operate via a team of volunteers who collect surplus food from borough market’s traders and help distribute it in the local area – on foot or by bike! their aim is to inspire people to become zero food waste heroes, and we were the first fully fledged restaurant to them in borough market. although mallow has very little food waste, we are still able to work with them by raising money.
the felix project rescue good, surplus food from the food industry that cannot be sold, and would otherwise go to waste, they then sort and deliver this food to almost 1000 front-line charities, primary schools and holiday programmes in london. we donate seasonal dry foods to the felix project with every menu change.
spread a smile brings joy and laughter to seriously ill and hospitalised children and teenagers, and their families during long hospital stays, through hospital visits, outings & events & art initiatives. we host monthly tea parties across our restaurants as well as donating cakes and other sweet treats for spread a smile events
diversity role models is a uk-wide charity, working with schools to end lgbtq+ bullying through educational workshops and role model storytelling. they educate young people about difference, challenging stereotypes and addressing the misuse of language to shape a world where everyone embraces diversity and can thrive. we fundraise for them during june and volunteer throughout the year.
more trees work with tree planting projects across the world, to create, restore and conserve forests, while supporting local communities. we have planted a tree for each of our team members and will be planting more for special occasions and other fundraising throughout the year, aiding forests in madagascar, kenya, honduras, nepal and the philipines. view our forest here
